WHEAT

Balaton

Midseason early ripe, awnless autumn wheat created by Austrian seed company Probstdorfer Saatzucht. It has been successfully tested in Azerbaijan and has been registered since 2018. The main purpose of production is to get food grain for the production of bakery products. In agrofitocenosis, shrub invasion and density is high, head density is medium, thousand-kernel weight is within 40 grams, resistant to bending, shedding grains, yellow and brown rust. Early planting is recommended.

Gallio

Midseason early ripe, awnless autumn wheat created by Austrian seed company Probstdorfer Saatzucht. It has provided stable yields over the last 4 years in the arid hot climate zones of Azerbaijan. This variety is characterized by early coming into ear and germination. The main purpose of production is to get food grain for the production of bakery products. Resistant to mildew, yellow rust and fusariose. It is resistant to bending during the time of grains growth.

Gaudio

Short-grown awnless autumn variety of wheat bred by Austrian seed company Probstdorfer Saatzucht. Midseason early ripening variety grown in soil and climatic conditions of Samukh, Ceyranchol and Padarchol regions of Azerbaijan. It is characterized by high productivity and drought resistance. Early and dense planting is recommended, as with Balaton.

Gobustan

This variety was bred by the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agriculture. Average height (90-100 sm), resistant to bending, early-ripening cultivar. It is white, long, medium density, bending during sprouting. The wheatear is awned, white, rough and scabrous with shallow furrow, white, half-round, setulose, medium-sized grains. It has high-tech and baking quality. This variety is resistant to shedding grains, yellow rust and Tilletia.

Murov 2

This variety was bred by the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agriculture. Since 2011, it is included in the State register of breeding achievements of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Average height (90-100 sm), resistant to bending, midseason variety. The wheatear is white, awnless, and sniffy. The grain of this variety is large, red and egg-shaped, shallow furrow and setulose. It has high-tech and baking quality. This variety is of average resistance to yellow rust.

Girmizigul

This variety was bred by the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agriculture. Since 2011, it is included in the State register of breeding achievements. This variety is short-grown (74-84 sm), the culm is solid and resistant to bending. It has a high architectonics. The wheatear is straight, short, and red. Awns are short, irregular and setulose. The grain of this variety is small, semi-oval in shape, red in color, shallow furrow and setulose. Potential productivity is 7.0-8.0 tonnes/ha. The main purpose of production is to get food grain for the production of bakery products. Resistant to mildew, yellow rust and fusariose. Under irrigation, it is recommended to plant at optimum time (2nd and 3rd ten days of October).

Aran

This variety was bred by the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agriculture. Since 2009, it is included in the State register of breeding achievements. This variety is of average-height (96-102sm), resistant to bending, medium maturing rate. The wheatear is awnless, straight, short, and white. The grain of this variety is of medium size, red in color, oval in shape, shallow furrow and setulose. Potential productivity is 7.0 - 8.0 tonnes/ha. The main purpose of production is to get food grain for the production of bakery products. Bread of this variety is of high quality. Moderately resistant to fungal diseases and drought. Under irrigation, is the 2nd and 3rd ten days of October are considered to be the best time for the optimal culm.

Maurizio

This variety was bred by Austrian seed company Probstdorfer Saatzucht. New, short-season crop with high potential and bread baking quality. This variety is good for breeding. It is noted for its resistance to bending and yellow rust. Large and full grain combined with high protein and gluten.

Topkapi

This variety was bred by Austrian seed company Probstdorfer Saatzucht. Short-season crop with white wheatear, red grain. It is a variety of high potency and baking quality. Resistant to bending and yellow rust. It has a large and full grain.

BARLEY

Autumn barley “Finola”

It is a new pluriserial autumn barley variety by Austrian seed company Probstdorfer Saatzucht. It is characterized by early ear formation and ripening. Despite the fact that this variety ripens 3-4 days later than local varieties (Karabakh 22, Jalilabad 19 and others), it is able to yield crop in the absence of moisture. The bending ratio is within 7 points. This variety is noted for its large and full grain, which provides advantage over other varieties grown in the arid lands of Azerbaijan.

Autumn barley “Arcanda”

It is a selection of Austrian seed company Probstdorfer Saatzucht. Double-sided autumn barley. Gives a good stance against bending and the fragility of the culm. This variety is noted for its large and full grain. This variety is resistant to major diseases and is well adapted to various weather and production conditions. The area of cultivation is wide.

Autumn barley “Jalilabad 19”

This variety was bred by the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agriculture. Since 2001, it has been included in the State Register of breeding achievements. This is an Intensive type and bending resistant variety. Vegetative season is 177-184 days. The length and density of the ear is average. The awns are of medium size, yellow in color, coarse and poorly distributed. Potential productivity can reach 6,0-7,0 tons. Medium size grains weigh 40-44 grams. Poorly infected with rust and mildew disease. It is resistant to helmintosporiosis and other diseases. It is considered suitable for drylands. The last ten days of October and the first ten days of November are optimal planting periods.

Autumn barley “Karabakh 22”

This variety was bred by the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agriculture. Since 2002, it has been included in the State Register of breeding achievements. Vegetative season is 193-210 days. The length and density of the ear is average. The awns are relatively long. Potential productivity can reach 7,0-7,5 tons. It is medium-sized (42 gr.). Very rarely infected with rust diseases. It is resistant to mildew and other diseases. This variety is also resistant to salt and drought. The optimal sowing period is from the second half of October to the first half of November. It is sensitive to cultivation in high agricultural background.

Autumn barley “Dayanatli”

This variety was bred by the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agriculture. Since 2009, it is included in the State Register of breeding achievements. 96-108 sm high autumn variety. The ear is average in length and density, light yellow in color. The awns are light yellow, long, scabrous and regular. The grain is medium-sized, light yellow, half-long. Thousand-kernel weight is 42-48 gr. It is resistant to yellow rust, brown rust, mildew, and other diseases. The optimal sowing period is the first twenty days of October.
